Nigel Carey works with individuals and organisations in the areas of leadership development and organisational culture change.

As Director of Thinking Dynamics Pty Ltd he consults to corporate business, schools, government departments, professional associations and not-for-profit organisations.

A good part of his 30 year career has involved him providing management and leadership training to thousands of different people from all sections of the community.

 

Many of the courses he delivered used the latest research, theory and practice from the behavioural sciences (psychology, neuroscience, emotional intelligence) which often gave participants powerful new insights into how they could manage themselves, maintain relationships and lead people more effectively to achieve personal and organisational goals.

 

​People often commented that the principles and practices they were learning were so fundamental to success in a changing world that they should be taught in schools. He totally agreed and this is one of the reasons SELschools is now being established.

 

Career Highlights:      

  • Working for two international leadership consultancies and delivering training around Australia and overseas including Thailand, Laos, Singapore and Cambodia 

 

  • Delivering leadership programs for the Australian Institute of Management for 7 years to managers and leaders from a range of industries

 

  • The design and delivery of intensive workshops for hundreds of long-term unemployed and highly disadvantaged job-seekers with 60% finding sustainable employment after the program

  • Helping pioneer Australia's education export industry by making regular trips overseas and assisting international students from Europe and Asia to study in Australia

  • Developing tailored programs for Aboriginal people and delivering them to groups including the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs, disadvantaged youth at Woorabinda and Aboriginal Elders at Cooktown

  • Being part of a team for a large organisation's cultural change program and helping deliver leading edge training to senior managers and 14,000 staff​
